Radiohead Performs Two New Songs

Radiohead started their 2012 tour in Miami with a bang, having a set list of old and recent songs. The band, who performed new non-album songs last year, debuted another batch that made the fans so delighted.

“Identikit” gives you the cool vibe of electronic influences present in their previous works, and “Cut in a Hole” is a slow ambient jam that’s the band’s trademark.

FREE iTunes Download: Live to Rise by Soundgarden

After 15 long years, Soundgarden has finally released their first new song ‘Live to Rise’ and is now available for fans to download for free on iTunes! The song was released as part of the promotion for the upcoming Disney movie Marvel’s The Avengers, which is said to run until April 24 and will also include an exclusive clip from the movie The Face Off.

Soundgarden singer-songwriter Chris Cornell said in an interview with Billboard that, “The hard part of writing a song for a film is it has to act as a Soundgarden song, first and foremost, then obviously, it has to coexist with the film.”

The band was asked to contribute a song for the movie’s official soundtrack while working on their reunion album which was set to release by fall this year. They didn’t find any of their tracks to fit the movie enough based on Cornell’s statement and so Cornell and guitarist Kim Thayil decided to start from scratch and thus led up to the creation of “Live to Rise.”

Rolling Stones to Hit the Studio Soon

The Rolling Stones are hitting the studio soon “to throw some ideas around”, according to guitarist Ronnie Wood. The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with various projects that would include a photo book and feature-length documentary.

The rumored anniversary show might not happen though until at least 2013 as concerns with Keith Richards’ health are showing but they will get together to shake the rust off. Added Wood, “It’s like working out for the Olympics or something you’ve got to go into training.”

GNR’s HOF Induction to Continue Without Axl

A spokesperson from the HOF has just confirmed with Billboard that rock band Guns N’ Roses’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is still set to go on as scheduled despite Axl Rose’s decision to boycott the said event.

Axl’s decision made news last Wednesday (April 11th) after the LA Times received an open letter from him wherein he not only stated the reason why he chose not to attend the ceremony but also a request to not be inducted into the Hall at all. The decision caused a division amongst fans — some criticized and accused him of being self-centered while others supported him for sticking up for what he believes in. Despite this, all of them agree on one thing: that they regret not being able to see their favorite band together for one last time.

Meanwhile, Slash shares what the induction means to him in this clip:
