With a new album on the way, singer/songwriter and record producer Cee Lo Green has just recently released his new single Only You, which features the vocal stylings of newcomer Lauriana Mae.
The song is “about two people on different paths, hoping for the best, hoping that those paths lead to each other,” describes Green, wherein he trades verses with Mae as he professes his feeling for her and telling her that she’s the only one who can “stop the bleeding.” Green adds, “It’s like love lost or the acknowledgement of a love lost, but it’s still optimistic.”
While this is undeniably a romantic tune, Green avoids making the song sound too sappy by staying breezy in this classic duet-like track. He taps into the hopeless romantic persona, which to me personally is a good thing since I think we have more than enough songs to listen to especially once Valentine’s Day arrives (shudder). It’s got a nice bassline and a very catchy chorus, which I believe every good song has to have if it wants to have longevity.
The album has yet to have a title and also a release date, though as far as the track goes, it’s released just in time to get enough air timeand attention for it to be played almost every hour on the radio until Valentine’s Day (shiver).
Rock musician-film director Dave Grohl who might actually be the hardest-working man in show business, directed the new music video for Soundgarden’s By Crooked Steps.
The video shows Soundgarden cruising around the streets of LA with a knavish cop played by Deadmau5. “I had an idea. I got a copy of the record and the third song By Crooked Steps was a signature, instantly recognizable Soundgarden song and the rest was history,” the director said.
The new single is from King Animal, Soundgarden’s first album in almost sixteen years. It was co-produced by the band with record producer Adam Kasper at Studio X.
Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell and other band members Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd are seen rocking the throng in the music video.
The lead vocalist Cornell said, “It’s one of the earlier songs that we started working on, but I also felt like it, to me, is like definitely sort of a new chapter for us. If you wanted to take one example of Soundgarden progressing, that’s a good one for me.”
The band officially released the video today. You can watch it below:

You guys still remember that time when Beyonce hinted of a possible Destiny’s Child reunion at the upcoming Super Bowl on February 3? It seems like it’s never gonna happen after all, according to fellow former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, that is.

When asked about reports of a potential comeback of the chart-topping former girl group will perform together at Sunday’s halftime show, the We Break the Dawn singer responded “That’s not confirmed. It is rumored. I’m going to be in the musical Fela. I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.”
OK, so it’s not really a flat out denial but rather more of just a clarification that it is just a rumor, but you have to admit that the way she responded to the question kind of leaves one feeling only less excited than before about the potential get together.
And it didn’t help bring the excitement back either when she said, “But we did record a song with each other before the holidays.” OK, but that still doesn’t reaffirm the story that the three of you will be seen performing together in New Orleans, does it?
But there’s still a glimmer of hope for fans though. Despite Williams saying that she’s going to be in the musical Fela, she didn’t specify which show dates she’ll be appearing on. Why would that matter, you ask? Because according to the show’s website, Williams isn’t scheduled to appear in the show from January 31st to February 3rd. So basically, it’s Williams’s word against the production’s website. Which one will it be for you?
C’mon Michelle, Beyonce already said it herself weeks earlier that you three are performing at the Super Bowl so you don’t have to build up any suspense anymore.
In a new interview, former teen pop queen and Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus declared that her new album will feature a contribution from rapper and record producer Tyler, The Creator. Her new album will be released sometime in 2013.
The Odd Future is also featured on Cyrus’s new single, on which she collaborated with Grammy Award-winning R&B/hip-hop diva Mary J. Blige. She hinted that the new album would be a combination of country, hip-hop and metal.
“I wrote this song with Mary J. Blige, and Tyler, The Creator heard it and said, ‘I am obsessed with this song, and I will guest on it if you promise me that you will keep it on the album.’ And he killed it! I really didn’t want to make a hip-hop record, and I’m not trying at all to be a Rihanna or a Nicki Minaj. That’s not my vibe. When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening to Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, where she also gushes about being married to Liam Hemsworth.
Morrissey was rushed to a hospital after collapsing on stage in Swindon, England, last Saturday night for a possible bladder infection.
According to reports, the singer collapsed due to difficulties in breathing while performing the Smiths’ This Charming Man. He was aided by his bandmates off the stage then rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
He’s now in stable condition according to a post on his website. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see him on tour as there’s no word yet on when it will resume. Shows scheduled for Friday in Minneapolis and Chicago have been postponed.
American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder is set to have a concert next month that will be held near the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel, the day before the game takes place at the Superdome. Other performers include Gary Clark Jr. and many more.
Wonder will be included at the Bud Light segment which is promoted by many celebrities.
Justin Timberlake will also perform elsewhere for a pre-Super Bowl concert, after a long-awaited return. The concert will take place after Celebrity Beach Bowl. Pitbull is also invited to perform while Snoop Dogg, and Neil Patrick Harris will take part in the activities.
Alicia Keys will start out the Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome before the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens showdown. She will sing the national anthem, while Beyonce will later lead the halftime show.
It certainly is a very busy season for Stevie Wonder. Watch his performances at the recent 2013 Presidential Inaugural Ball and at the 2013 NAMM in Anaheim, California.
Seems like former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is so excited to give something back to her fans that she couldn’t even bear to wait any longer before releasing the official music video to her newest single Boomerang, which is yet to be released on March 10, just little over a month from now.
The video was released on Vevo at around midnight on January 25, just a day after posting a teaser of the song on her website and Facebook page on January 23. The unnamed second album that’s going to carry the lead single is due to be released this summer (no specific dates as of the moment).
The song has a nice upbeat rhythm to it, although for some reason, the intro made me feel like I was suddenly back somewhere around early 2000. The chorus is catchy enough to remain playing in your head after you just listened to it (i.e. last song syndrome), which of course could either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether you liked the song to begin with or not.
As for the music video, frankly, I’m not that crazy about it. I think it’s a bit of a mess and kinda takes away any appeal that the song has. I mean, if the person who came up with the whole thing is trying to mimic Will.I.Am’s music video for Scream & Shout then I just have to say that they failed miserably. I could probably talk more about how bland the music video is and how it hurts my eyes than how the song soothes my ears, but hey, it’s probably just me.
The older the wine, the better it gets. It seems that this saying fits perfectly with the Rolling Stones. The legendary rock band from the 60′s is back with a new single Doom and Gloom and they’re still on a roll, rockin’ the house down with their trademark bluesy rock feel.
The band is still intact with their lineup that includes drummer Charlie Watts, guitarists Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and singer Mick Jagger. With the release of new materials and also celebrating their 50th anniversary in the music industry, it means that we’re going to see a lot of Jagger moves again.
Doom and Gloom is like an upgraded sound of the band, compared to their early records way back wherein they sounded raw. This one has kept in tune with the present time and kids of today will experience their brand of music, which I would say is way better and cooler than the current bands.
The winner of American Idol season four has just released the music video for her present country hit, Two Black Cadillacs that serves as the third official single from her fourth studio album Blown Away.
The country music singer has chosen music video director Paul Brown for her new clip who was known in the industry for his dark-themed videos. Like Underwood, he is also a fan of horror movies, which set the theme for this new video.
Underwood said that Stephen King was her inspiration for the overall concept of the video, which features two scorned women teaming up to murder their cheating lover.
Two Black Cadillacs was written by Carrie Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and Josh Kear. It is presently reaching the no. 11 spot of the Billboard Country charts.
The singer went on Twitter to respond about the warm feedback to her new music video:
Thank you all so much for the love you’ve been giving me for the “Two Black Cadillacs” video! You guys are awesome!
