Britney Spears Single ‘Work Bitch’ Debuts Early

Originally scheduled to be released last September 16, Britney Spears was forced to debut her newest single, Work Bitch, a day early after she found out that a low quality version of the song was leaked online.

And just like that, several weeks’ worth of teases on Twitter and Instagram, and even a countdown clock on her website was suddenly all for naught. It didn’t take her and her manager, Adam Leber, long enough though to decide what to do about it when they announced to the fans that they moved the time of the premier to 24 hours in advance – in just five minutes! Talk about quick thinking and decision-making.

After the official premiere, the track was then posted in Britney’s official Vevo page where she also told her fans that they would be able to get their copies sooner than expected.

Work Bitch, a track that is co-written by Will.I.Am and Sebastian Ingorsso protégé DJ Otto Jettman of Swedish House Mafia, is the lead single off of the 31-year-old pop diva’s yet-to-be-named upcoming album which follows her 2011 LP Femme Fatale. The energetic track sounds like a definite club banger wherein she gives her fans a few words of advice on how to become successful like her. “You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work bitch!” she mutters in the opening of the song.

Billboard Gives Pink Woman Of The Year Award

December 10 will mark another momentous event in the history of Pink’s musical career as she’ll be accepting the Woman of the Year Award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music event to be held in New York City. The said event, which celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the industry, is now on its eighth year run and also happens to coincide with Billboard Magazine’s Women in Music Power Players list.

Bill Werde, the Editorial Director of Billboard, described Pink as “almost being in a class by herself among women in music,” and that they are “thrilled to recognize her successes by honoring her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award.”

When asked about her reaction to the news, Pink said, “I was shocked and surprised to hear that Billboard named me Woman of the Year. It’s been an incredible year and I feel so grateful to radio for sticking by me, and to the fans and friends and all of the incredible talent that I was fortunate enough to work with for this album.” Pink was referring to her sixth album titled Truth About Love, which Billboard said was the top-selling album for a woman when this mid-year’s numbers were released. That is the album that carried her hit single Just Give Me a Reason which topped the Hot 100 list and garnered significant pop airplay together with other tracks: Blow Me (One Last Kiss), Try and True Love. It also the one that earned her a nomination for this year’s Best Pop Vocal Album at the GRAMMY.

Last year’s recipient of Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award was Katy Perry. Other artists that also earned the same title and privilege include Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Stacy Ferguson.
