After trading her squeaky-clean (hence, boring) image for a gritty and over-the-top sexy one, Miley Cyrus has been crowned by MTV as the Best Artist of 2013. Continue reading
One of the annoying things about today’s music industry is the way we tend to give more attention to what an artist does outside the realm of making music than give them credit for actually making music. Continue reading

For the life of me, I still can’t believe that Taylor Swift just had to prove the media, and pretty much everybody else for that matter, right about their predictions on what she was going to do next after her break up with One Direction’s Harry Styles – and that is to write a song about it.

According to the UK’s Sun newspaper, a source close to Taylor said that the 23-year-old pop/country singer has already been working on the tune since December when she and Styles broke up. The source added that Taylor delves into her “memory box” for inspiration when trying to come up with the break-up songs she has written for her former flames such as Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer.
“Her main source of material for the songs she’s written about her string of other famous ex-boyfriends comes from rooting around in a trunk where she hoards keepsakes of their relationships,” the source added. “Photos of Harry are now in there, along with a chain he had made for her when they got together last year which matches his own favorite necklace – of a paper plane,” continued the source. “Trinkets like that should provide some easy material for her to build a song out of.”

I guess Taylor’s ship has sailed.
And that’s just Exhibit A, ladies and gents. In Exhibit B we have reports that indicated that the I Knew You Were Trouble singer was spotted at her recording studio on January 10, tweeting,:
Back in the studio. Uh oh…

Taylor’s love/break up history include Twilight star Taylor Lautner, who is said to have been the inspiration behind the song Back to December, while her fling with John Mayer, as you most of you would know by now, is what prompted her to write Dear John.
Personally, I’d have to go with the majority here. I mean, c’mon, Taylor, you’re better than this. Surely you can draw inspiration from something else. Something positive maybe? We understand that every artist needs an inspiration but don’t you think you’re doing this whole post-break up song shtick way too long already?
What do you guys think? You think it’s about time Taylor drew her inspiration from somewhere else? Let us know in the comments below.
