Lady Gaga is Keynote Speaker for SXSW 2014

27-year-old Lady Gaga won’t just be performing at South by Southwest on March 14, 11am at the Austin Convention Center, but she’ll also deliver the keynote address. She’ll be joining the ranks of the event’s previous speakers such as Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and Dave Grohl.

French duo Daft Punk won the most-coveted awards Album of The Year (Random Access Memories), and Record of The Year (Get Lucky) at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday. John Fogerty to Stage Birthday Concert

Legendary folk rocker John Fogerty will be celebrating his 68th birthday and he’s inviting his fans to join him on his celebration by staging a rare one-off concert at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre on May 28th.

Save this date because it’s not just an ordinary celebration as Fogerty is also set to release his latest album, Wrote a Song for Everyone.

It will be his ninth solo project after disbanding from his group Credence Clearwater Revival. The album features collaborations with the singer-songwriter along different musicians of different genres. Some of the names included are Bob Seger, one of his contemporaries, performing Who’ll Stop the Rain, rock band Foo Fighters for the song Fortunate Son, Keith Urban doing Almost Saturday Night,, Kid Rock performing Born on the Bayou, Miranda Lambert and Tom Morello doing Wrote a Song for Everyone and Brad Paisley doing Hot Rod Heart.

The concert will be broadcasted live on America’s Axs Tv which stars at 8:30 p.m. PST.

Stevie Wonder To Perform at the Super Bowl Weekend

American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder is set to have a concert next month that will be held near the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel, the day before the game takes place at the Superdome. Other performers include Gary Clark Jr. and many more.

Wonder will be included at the Bud Light segment which is promoted by many celebrities.

Justin Timberlake will also perform elsewhere for a pre-Super Bowl concert, after a long-awaited return. The concert will take place after Celebrity Beach Bowl. Pitbull is also invited to perform while Snoop Dogg, and Neil Patrick Harris will take part in the activities.

Alicia Keys will start out the Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome before the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens showdown. She will sing the national anthem, while Beyonce will later lead the halftime show.

It certainly is a very busy season for Stevie Wonder. Watch his performances at the recent 2013 Presidential Inaugural Ball and at the 2013 NAMM in Anaheim, California.

Wilko Johnson Announces Last Shows Before He Dies

Talk about a passion for music, Wilko Johnson, the founding member of Dr Feelgood and guitarist of Ian Dury and the Blockheads, has announced his last four shows later this year after getting diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas.

According to his manager, the planned farewell concert, which embarks a mini tour at London, Bilston, Holmfirth and Glasgow, is his way of saying thank you to all his fans for all the support they gave him.

Johnson has spent his career performing with his solo outfit The Wilko Johnson Band and to the two groups mentioned previously. He also plays a role on HBO’s hit series Game Of Thrones.

Johnson has not undergone chemotherapy for his ailing condition so he could still perform live for as long as possible.

Here are the dates for the last four concerts:

March 6 – London Koko
March 7 – Bilston Robin 2
March 8 – Holmfirth Picturedrome
March 9 – Glasgow o2 ABC

Bruce Springsteen To Be Honored By Elton John, Sting, and Neil Young

Bruce Springsteen will be honored by MusiCares two days before the Grammys, not for his 40th anniversary in the music industry but for his exceptional artistic achievements and his charitable efforts.

The MusiCares Person of the Year tribute is one of the most prestigious events wherein proceeds from the show will raise money for emergency financial, medical, and personal needs.

Past recipients of the tribute are Tony Bennett, Bono, Natalie Cole, Phil Collins, David Crosby, Neil Diamond, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Don Henley, Billy Joel, Elton John, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Luciano Pavarotti, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Sting, Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young.

The show will be held in Los Angeles on February 8 with John Stewart hosting the event and artists like Sting, Neil Young, Elton John, Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Jackson Browne perform to pay tribute to The Boss.
